CLIMATE CHANGE - related to fashion industries!

Climate change is very common for everyone as we all are aware about that but we never tried to get into it. So now we will get some knowledge regarding this change in deep.

We were introduced with some Documentaries that made us aware about a few youth lead social movements that are fighting in order to protect our environment. Before this session, I never knew or realized, that there is so much going on, so many battles being fought, just to protect our environment. 

Climate change is an existed threat to life on earth the WHO predicts that in 12yrs (from 2015) it will be directly responsible for the deaths of over 250,000 people each year.More frequent and intense droughts, melting glaciers etc. is directly harming us and our livelihoods.

But what is actually being done to stop all this? Or what has actually been done so far? 

Their are individuals who are aware that the climate change is an issue ,but the question is how willing are we all to get involved and try to get a better future.And their are also young people who don't feel like that they have the power at all to make any change and the question arises - Is real political change even possible with the power of people alone, particularly by young? but if we actually come together we totally can change so many things.

And we need this social change to happen, we need a radical shift in government policy in order to avert a climate crisis. Now, let's look at some of the the few movements which were followed by the young activists who believe change is possible and are fighting daily to save this planet-- like the SUNRISE MOVEMENT, Boston city, USA and EXTINCTION REBELLION , UK.

The documentary named the people's voice shows how the young activists are trying to bring change for a better future.

Sara Blazevic and Varshini Prakash started the Sunrise Movement on the East Coast in 2015 is an American youth led political movement coordinated by Sunrise, a political action organization that advocates political action on climate change.Sunrise is building an army of young people to stop climate change, and create millions of good jobs in the process.They all unite to make climate change an urgent priority across their country, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on their politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and well-being of all people. Their strategy is clear The halt climate change by working within the system and lobbing politicians into the pushing through legislative and economic reform. Heart of the Sunrise strategy is the GREEN NEW DEAL a radical environment change policy where their goal is to completely transform the US economy.Green deal is a massive economic mobilization,that is an effort to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs.Sunrise movement is clearly influential and it started getting results.

And the other well known movement is the EXTICTION REBELLION.In October 2018, a group of activists angered by political in action on climate change declared themselves to be an open defiance of the UK government, they called themselves extiction rebellion or XR, they work outside the system engaging in bold non violent acts of civil disobedience and their strategy is to create headline grabbing protests.They believe the only way for a better future is people's uprising. Political change what extinction rebellion want to see--- Government to tell the truth ,to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025 and to achieve structural and political change in the form of citizen's assemble ordinary people who are educated on the facts.

So, as we look into the documentary we get to know how these young activists are working and how much pressure they are creating to make a change. They come from different backgrounds and have different believes just like us!

And apart from these movements we also looked for a documentary about two different young girl named Malala Yousafzai and Greta Thunberg,who are also fighting for a better future. And the reality is they are being heard. So, after looking into all these we must get into for a reality check and must think together for a better future. We must take inspiration from these young groups who are working from last few years and we should join them. By taking small small steps and spreading awareness regarding our planet can save a lot.
